Boat:

Capt Taylor will take up to 4 anglers on his 21 foot Voyager pontoon specifically outfitted for catfish angling.  The boat is adequately powered by a dependable Yamaha 90 HP 4 stroke outboard and Minn Kota Co Pilot trolling motor for controlled drift fishing/trolling.  We will be able to fish shallow or deep, wherever the bite is happening.   Latest electronics:  Lowrance HDS 9 Live with GPS mapping.  Stout Driftmaster rodholders make bite detection very easy.   There is a Sunbrella bimini top for comfort in the sun or rain.

Fishing report :  Lake Wylie  March 23, 2023


Blue catfish Lake Wylie:  Very good. Water temps in upper 50's and warmer in shallows in afternoon sun .  Anchor up bite is excellent with fish size 8 to 28 pounds mostly blue cats with ocassional nice flat. Cut white perch and cut gizzard shad have been the baits of choice.  Fishing will only improve now through mid May.


Crappie 12 to 20 feet in scattered schools.  Fish to 1 pounds common.  




Catfish ---catch and keep guidelines:

Blue catfish 32 inches or greater will be released

Blue catfish 24 to 31.9  inches 4 per party

Blue catfish less than 24 inches per state regs
