Your fishing guide

There are many reasons to hire a fishing guide.  Anglers new to the area can significantly reduce their learning curve.  Those who do not fish or have the equipment may find that a guide is the most economical way to go.  Whether you are a pro or novice, Catfish ON! seeks to provide a safe and enjoyable fishing experience.

Fishing the Catawba

Boat:

Capt Taylor will take up to 4 anglers on his 21 foot Voyager pontoon specifically outfitted for catfish angling.  The boat is adequately powered by an Evinrude 90HP E Tec outboard and Minn Kota Co Pilot trolling motor for controlled driftfishing/trolling.  We will be able to fish shallow or deep, wherever the bite is happening.   Electronics include Lowrance LCX 18 with GPS mapping.  Stout Driftmaster rodholders make bite detection very easy.   There is a Sunbrella bimini top for comfort in the sun or rain.

Trophy catfish angling was made famous by the great Santee Cooper fishery.   The Catawba chain of lakes were relatively unknown as catfish destinations.  Catfish ON! Guide Service was established in April of 2006 when a developing trophy fishery started to get noticed on Lake Wateree followed by Lake Wylie.  Catfish ON! is the first fishing guide service to target catfish specifically on Wateree and Wylie.
